swissnex San Francisco connects the best of many worlds by bridging the knowledge, energy and competencies in science, higher education, art and innovation between Switzerland, the U.S.A and Canada. Initiated by the Swiss State Secretariat for Education and Research (SER) as a public-private venture, and managed in cooperation with the Swiss Department of Foreign Affairs, swissnex San Francisco is an annex of the Consulate General of Switzerland in San Francisco. AIA San Francisco's newest exhibition, INOUT, showcases work by 12 young designers from the Ecole cantonale d'art de Lausanne (ECAL) in Switzerland. These urban furniture prototypes feature a permeable connection between interior and exterior spaces and offer a rereading and re-appropriation of the urban setting from a social, ecological and technological perspective.
