| Philippe J. Goix, Ph.D., President and Chief Executive Officer, Singulex, Inc. Philippe Goix, Ph.D., has more than a decade of entrepreneurial biotechnology experience successfully leading fast growing, product-centered, innovative companies backed by institutional venture capitalists. Since joining Singulex in September 2004, Dr. Goix has driven system technology toward commercialization, secured strategic Intellectual Property for its technology, raised several “up rounds” of funding, and built a strategic reagent and diagnostics strategy. Prior to joining Singulex, Philippe Goix was the founder of Guava Technologies, Inc., where he held successive positions as President and CTO. Prior to this seven-year experience, Dr. Goix worked for more than 15 years in the field of laser analytical devices applied to fluid mechanics. He worked at CNRS in France, as a charge de recherche at Sandia National Laboratories, and at Stanford University as a scientist, where he developed sophisticated laser- based diagnostic tools to investigate complex fluidics systems. Dr. Goix holds a doctorate in physics from University of Rouen, France and an MBA from the University of San Francisco | |
| Michael P. McKenna, Chief Scientific Officer, Tethys Dr. McKenna has made a career of managing advanced technology development and scaling technologies focused on product development. In his positions as Vice President of Operations and Collaborative Research at CuraGen Corporation, he led the development and industrialization of more than 15 processes spanning genomics, sequencing, and proteomics. This work yielded breakthrough publications in the whole genome protein interaction maps, whole genome sequencing technologies, and, in collaboration with Bayer Pharmaceuticals, the first generation on in vitro predictive toxicology assays. | Zachary R. Scott, Director, Burrill Dr. Scott joined Burrill & Company in July of 2005 and is involved with sourcing and evaluating new investment opportunities across the life science spectrum. Prior to joining Burrill & Company, Dr. Scott was a General Surgery resident at Oregon Health Science University in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Scott has a BA in Economics from Duke University, an MD from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, and an MBA and a certificate in Health Sector Management from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, where he was Fuqua Scholar. Dr. Scott is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. | |
| William J. Welch, Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, Monogram William J. Welch has served as Monogram's Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer since September 2005. From 1998 to 1999 and from 2001 to August 2005, Mr. Welch was with LaJolla Pharmaceutical, Inc., most recently as Vice President, Sales & Marketing. From 1999 to 2001, Mr. Welch was Vice President of Global Marketing for Dade Behring MicroScan where he managed marketing and strategic development for a $150 million business. From 1993 to 1998, Mr. Welch held a number of management positions with Abbott Laboratories, including General Manager of the Ambulatory Infusion Systems Division. Mr. Welch holds a BS from the University of California at Berkeley and an MBA from Harvard University. |
