SDForum’s Global Open Source Conference on the globalization of open source will include leading industry and government experts examining the worldwide causes and effects of open source software and its impact on commerce strategies, investment planning, legal issues and government policy.

Open source is changing the global software industry as governments create new policies mandating use of open source and as international markets are opened.  In response, hundreds of new companies are formed to support, nurture and commercialize open source to take advantage of opportunities.  As a result, end users are deploying open source throughout their companies in literally every vertical and horizontal market.

The SDForum 2008 Global Open Source Conference will address the unique nature of open source software trends; the role of governments; the impact of globalization on open source commerce; the distinctive characteristics of investment; the different legal aspects of a globally distributed IP community; plus the growth characteristics of the global open source community. Come join us for this half day conference in San Francisco the day before OSBC.
