| Paul Saffo, Paul Saffo, Forecaster & Essayist, Professor at Stanford and Fellow to the World Economic Forum Paul Saffo is a forecaster and essayist with over two decades experience exploring long-term technological change and its practical impact on business and society. He currently teaches at Stanford University and is a fellow of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences. He was the founding chairman of the Samsung Science Board and serves on a variety of other boards including the Long Now Foundation and the Singapore National Research Foundation Science Advisory Board. He is also an advisor to 3i Venture Capital and has served as an advisor and Forum Fellow to the World Economic Forum. He is on a research sabbatical from Institute for the Future where he has worked since 1985. Paul’s essays have appeared in numerous publications, including The Harvard Business Review, Fortune, Wired, The Los Angeles Times, Newsweek, The New York Times,and the Washington Post. Paul is also a columnist for ABCNews.com, writing on technology and innovation issues. Paul holds degrees from Harvard College, Cambridge University, and Stanford University. | |
| John Markoff, Senior Writer with the New York Times John Markoff began writing about technology in 1976 freelancing for a number of publications including the Nation, Mother Jones and Saturday Review. In 1988, he moved to New York to join The New York Times as a reporter for the paper's business section and now writes for the Times from San Francisco where he covers Silicon Valley. At the Times he broke the story identifying Robert Tappan Morris, son of National Security Agency cryptographer Robert Morris, as the author of what would become known as the Internet worm. John holds degrees from Whitman College in Washington and University of Oregon. | |
| Joe Schoendorf, Venture Partner, Accel Joe Schoendorf has been active in high technology industries for nearly forty years. He is a member and strategic partner of the World Economic Forum and has served as a consultant to the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) in Japan. Joe has participated as a Board member in industry pioneers such as Macromedia (Authorware). Before joining Accel in 1988, he was the Vice President of Marketing for Apple Computer. Before that he was Executive Vice President for Worldwide Sales and Marketing for Ungermann-Bass and a member of the Office of the President. Prior to that he was the CEO of Industrial Networking, a joint venture of Ungermann-Bass and General Electric. Joe holds a B.S.E.E. degree from Purdue University and has served on the Dean's Advisory Council at Purdue's Krannert School of Business. |
