By some accounts, the Games Industry has surpassed all other forms of entertainment in financial returns including music and movies. Regardless of how you add up the sales and determine its relevance, there is no doubt that gaming is a leading force in entertainment and a critical element of transmedia storytelling.

With games as a foundation and focus, we’ll explore the future of games and entertainment with film, television, and games industry expert, Chuck Eyler. Also on hand is the interactive gaming exhibition, Game Gazer, along with the game designers who created it.

Bio

Chuck Eyler

Chuck Eyler, Studio Art Director, DreamCastle Studio, San Francisco, Playdom/Disney, is an award-winning writer, director, artist, storyteller and game maker. He began his storied career as an animator for The New Adventures of Mighty Mouse, Tarzan, Fabulous Funnies and Flash Gordon. Since that time, he has been involved in numerous television programs and films, including Oscar Award winning projects while at ILM like Innerspace and Young Sherlock Holmes.
Eyler began working on games for Atari/Time Warner Interactive and has dozens of titles to his name. While at EA, he ran the art team for The Sims Console, won awards for Distinguished Service at EA and was nominated for his art direction for ‘the Urbz‘ at the 8th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards. He is currently Art Director for Disney/Playdom, where he gets to fulfill his lifelong dream of following in the footsteps of a career hero, Walt Disney.
