Swiss artists Simone Aughterlony, Lukas Beyeler, Daniel Hellmann, Ivan Monteiro, and Valerie Reding join a month of performance art programmed throughout June 2016 in Los Angeles. The program is part of the Queer Biennial II Yooth: Loss and Found in Los Angeles, curated by Ruben Esparza with zurich moves! curator Marc Streit and Brian Getnick of Native Strategies.

Swiss participation in the Queer Biennial II stems from last year’s (X)change project with zurich moves! curator Marc Streit who brought Swiss and American performers together in Zurich and San Francisco to develop new performance in an exchange residency.

The performances resulting from the exchange were presented at CounterPulse in San Francisco in June 2015 and were accompanied by a panel of thinkers and academics from the Gender Studies field in Switzerland and the US at swissnex.

Some of last year’s performers continue their collaboration and conversation at the Queer Biennial II including San Francisco artists FAUNIQUE a.k.a. Monique Jenkinson, Keith Hennessy, and Mica Sigourney.
