TEDxHelvetia is about spreading ideas that can truly make a difference, from some of the world’s renowned experts ...
swissnex San Francisco is partnering with TEDxEcoleHôtelièreLausanne on January 16, 2012, to promote discussions on topics from neuroinformatics to flavor science to green design, gaming, and the anthropology of hospitality. And on January 21, we sponsor TEDxConstitutionDrive. This year’s theme: identity.
TED is a nonprofit devoted to “ideas worth spreading.” It began in 1984 as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. TEDx gives communities, organizations, and individuals the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experiences at the local level. TEDx events are fully planned and coordinated independently, on a community-by-community basis, under license from TED.
Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne is a hospitality management school founded in 1893 that boasts five restaurants, a wine-tasting laboratory, solar panels, wind-mills, and a biogas generator. At the invitation-only TEDx event there, swissnex San Francisco’s Sophie Lamparter will be on hand to answer questions about swissnex, pass out brochures, and show videos about our various services. swissnex helped identify and secure speakers for the conference.
For TEDxConstitutionDrive, swissnex San Francisco’s Birgit Coleman and Gian Gallati helped plan the event on the theme identity and swissnex is a sponsor. Speakers include Alice Parker, synthetic neuroscientist and expert on the synthetic brain; Douglas Kenrick, renowned psychologist speaking on why we all suffer from multiple personality disorder; Kaliya Hamlin, known as “Identity Woman” and co-founder of the Internet Identity Workshop; and many others.
Let the ideas ensue.
