The Digital Campus convenes university communicators, marketers, and others interested in leveraging new technologies to increase the visibility of their higher education institution.
In this first meeting of 2014, we will cover issues of specific concern to Swiss university communicators.
Panel discussion: Bilingual communications
Bilingual communication is business as usual for most Swiss universities. But how are universities using language in social media? Is one language given priority over another? To answer this question and others, we will hear how some Swiss universities handle multiple languages and learn from their experience and lessons learned.
We will also hear one Swiss university case study: the University of Lausanne (UNIL) on Instagram. Visual communication has taken hold social media and UNIL has shown an exceptional use of this cool platform with beautiful and sometimes unexpected images from campus. We will hear from David Spring on UNIL’s strategy for Instagram.
No meeting would be complete without an opportunity to get our hands dirty with a workshop. This time, we will consider a few examples of social media response guidelines that help the university community respond appropriately to controversial, random, and sometimes not so nice comments. By the end of the afternoon, every participant will come up with their own workflow chart.
