Who hasn’t dreamed of flying? With Birdly, a design research project that allows for full body, fully immersive flight simulation using virtual reality (VR), that dream can now become a reality.
Birdly heralds the next step in the widely publicized VR revolution—one that integrates all of the senses for a true to life experience. Visualized through Oculus Rift, embody a bird, the Red Kite, as it soars over the 3D virtual city of San Francisco, heightened by sonic, olfactory, and wind feedback.
Birdly touches down in in San Francisco for two weeks of live events and private fights. Book your session now. Scheduling note: Minimal flying times are available. Allow 15 minutes per person, and if you come in a group, book one flight for each group member.

More Info
Birdly was developed at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), IAD Interaction Design for the BirdLife center Switzerland in 2014. Their first demo video went viral, with over a million views in one weekend, and the story was picked up world-wide by major technology blogs and media outlets. Now, the team is taking their flying machine on the road and coming to the US for the first time.
