Bios
Paul Heydon
Paul Heydon covers the game and digital media sectors at Avista Partners. Paul is also a Partner at London Venture Partners which invests in the game sector and a Co Founder of Playhubs, a co working space for the game sector. Previously, he served as Managing Director at Unity Capital, a firm he founded in London in December 2004 advising on the Digital Media sector. Prior, Paul was the Head of Interactive Entertainment at Commerzbank Securities for about 4 years where he had global responsibility for the interactive entertainment sector. Prior to Commerzbank, Paul was on the media team at ING Barings for 2 years.
Paul has helped media companies globally on transactions with a total value of over $1 billion. Paul has worked on a variety of transactions including cross-border M&A, IPO’s, convertible bonds, private placements and strategic advisory with many digital media companies including: PlayJam, Unity Technologies, Channel Four, Infogrames (Atari), Ubisoft, Canon Europe, Criterion Software, Endemol, Teliasonera International Carrier, and Lionhead. Mr. Heydon earned both a MBA and a HBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario in Canada.
Jamil Moledina
At Google Play, Jamil Moledina manages strategic games partners on the store, from large entertainment studios and AAA publishers to innovative independent game developers. This consists of full lifecycle support, from providing development resources, to business model feedback, to editorial featuring. Jamil also heads up strategic projects such as games portfolio outreach and sourcing for Android TV, and works on improving discovery on the store.
Jamil was CEO of Wormhole Games, a startup game studio he co-founded to contribute innovation to mobile free to play games. Jamil was previously an EIR for Signia Venture Partners, following a run heading business development for Funzio, through their acquisition by Gree. At Electronic Arts, he managed third party digital game publishing deals for EA Partners, from signing to shipping. Prior to that, he ran the Game Developers Conference and Game Developer magazine. Jamil is an advisor to various startups, and the writer of Tearing the Sky, a science fiction novel.
