Press Release: Sense Your City—Open Data Goes Live

February 6, 2015

Geneva, Switzerland Data Canvas: Sense Your City goes live on Friday, February 6, 2015, at 9am Swiss Time (midnight Pacific Time), during a panel discussion at the Lift Conference featuring the mayor of Geneva alongside swissnex San Francisco’s Associate Director, Sophie Lamparter, and other speakers.

At that time, the network of DIY environmental sensors built up around the world by citizens in seven cities—everywhere there’s a swissnex location plus the city of Geneva—will stream open data online for all to see (and use!). An online data visualization challenge is next. Stay tuned for updates, and see the map and live data.

There’s an active Facebook group dedicated to Data Canvas: Sense Your City, too, where people from around the world are engaged in building, maintaining, and creating open data with DIY sensors.
