Swiss Higher Ed Goes Social
Navigating the social media terrain isn’t easy. With an evermore-crowded field of platforms, the options can be overwhelming. To be sure, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn are powerful tools to share your institution’s message. But which ones are the best use of your time, and how do you craft a narrative that engages your audience?
The communications team at swissnex San Francisco has spent the past two years working with Swiss institutions of higher education to answer these questions, among many others, as part of our program, “Swiss Academia and the Social Media Landscape.” Head of Digital Marketing Florencia Prada and Communications Manager Julia Kuhn Mirza have helped program participants boost their institutions’ social media presence through research, one-on-one consulting, study tours, and daily monitoring of the social media airwaves.
On November 13, swissnex San Francisco will wrap up the two-year program at the University of Basel to share highlights of our research. Several social media and technology experts will offer their insight, and we’ll hear from our partners, SER and GRS. The field includes SonntagsZeitung reporter Barnaby Skinner, former director of Internet outreach at Stanford University Ian Hsu, and social media architect at Burson-Marsteller Matthias Lüfkens, who will give the keynote address.
Of course, we’ve built in plenty of time to enhance your social network in person and share strategies with your counterparts from other institutions.
