By car

From the North

Cross the Golden Gate Bridge on Southbound Hwy. 101, continue on Lombard Street for about a mile. Turn right onto Van Ness Ave., then left onto Broadway Street. Drive through the tunnel and all the way to the Embarcadero, where you will take a left turn. Our location is right next to the Exploratorium on the right of the Embarcadero (cross street is Green street).

From the East

Cross the Bay Bridge on Westbound I-80 and take the Fremont Street exit. Turn left onto Fremont, and turn right at the first cross street onto Howard St. Then turn left onto the Embarcadero. After almost one mile, you will reach swissnex San Francisco on your right (cross street is Green street).

From the South

Head North on Hwy. 101 and take exit number 430A toward Downtown San Francisco. Merge onto I-280 N and continue onto King street. Continue on the Embarcadero until you reach Pier 17 on the right (after crossing Green street).

Taxis are common and easy to find in San Francisco, but a little more difficult in the rest of the Bay Area.

Apps like Uber and Lyft are great alternatives to taxis and often more convenient.

Car rental

If you travel frequently out of San Francisco to places in the Silicon Valley or the East Bay, renting a car is recommended. Note: it can be difficult and expensive to park in downtown San Francisco. More information on car rentals.

In addition, there are some shared car services available throughout the Bay Area that you might want to consider, but may require membership or registration: Zipcar  | City CarShare
