Partnership Opportunity | SAFT: Opening Innovation for Impact

Opening Innovation for Impact

SAFT (Sustainably Advancing Future Technologies) is an open innovation, cross-sector program, connecting industry and startups to accelerate development of sustainable products and services in key areas of impact: energy and mobility, finance and insurance, food and health.

We’re looking for corporate partners and foundations to help realize our latest initiative: SAFT. If your organization, business or foundation is focused on one or more of our key areas of impact, we’d love to hear from you to discuss various partnership options.

To discuss partnership opportunities and options, please get in touch with Laura Erickson, Head of Innovation & Sustainability:

About the Program

The SAFT accelerator program serves early stage startups and established corporations from three aligned categories: energy and mobility, finance and insurance, food and health. By bringing together startups and corporates from key sectors that are critical to responsible innovation, SAFT creates a platform to scale innovation + impact internationally.

The program involves three camps that will take place in Switzerland and Silicon Valley. During the camps, startups work to refine or co-develop products working side by side with corporate innovation managers and intrapreneurs.

Following a pitch event to select the participating startups, a 3-day boot camp in Zurich nurtures startup-corporate discovery, identifies co-creation opportunities and fosters bonding.  This helps prepare the cohort for the international camp in Silicon Valley.

During the 2-week international camp in Silicon Valley, startups and corporates meet again to continue co-creation projects and learn how to do business in Silicon Valley. Local coaches, mentors, and investors add value to the learning.

The international camp is followed by an integration camp in Geneva to apply learnings and follow up on opportunities discovered in Silicon Valley. The program ends with a demo day showcasing startups and joint projects.

There is a research component to the program that allows SAFT to be used as a vehicle for iterating best practices to support open innovation in areas where opportunity exists to create shared value for both company and society.

SAFT is a joint initiative of swissnex San Francisco and Impact Hub Global Fellowship Association.
